Vanessa Wright Hollifield is an artist creating contemporary and spiritual art. Her work spans from commissions for churches and homes, to repairs and restoration, to fine art gallery exhibition. You can find Hollifield's work in various galleries and churches in North Carolina, Virginia, Philadelphia, and recently at the National Museum of Catholic Art & History in New York, NY.
From the small town of Independence, VA, Vanessa grew up surrounded by beauty in the Blue Ridge mountains. She grew up in a Catholic household where art and travel were appreciated & encouraged. It is no surprise that Hollifield pursued the same beauty of her childhood in the medium of glass. Vanessa began her studies of the glass arts apprenticing at a high production glass studio while studying her undergraduate degree at Salem College.
Hollifield graduated with a BA in Studio Art and now lives in Winston Salem, NC. Vanessa works as a full-time glass artist. She welcomes special requests & commission work from churches, galleries, & clients. When asked to describe her glasswork, Hollifield simply states:
"My work is an expression of faith through art...Nothing says it better than the color, clarity, and texture of glass."
